Postavarul Massif

The Postavar massif is part of the Curvature Carpathians, forming the Barsa Mountains group together with the Piatra Mare Massif. It is located between Brasov's depression, over which it rises 1,200 m, and the steep northern slope of the Bucegi Mountains.

Postavarul Massif

Postavarul Peak

Postăvaru peak is the tallest peak of the Postăvaru Massif, reaching a height of 1,799 m. In some maps it is marked as being 1,800 m high or 1,804 m high.

Postăvaru Peak is also known as Cristianu Mare Peak.

You can reach the peak on several marked trails starting either from Poiana Braşov or from Timişul de Jos. The most popular route to the Postăvaru Peak is the "Red Road".

From the peak of the mountain you can see the Ciucas Mountains, the Piatra Mare Massif, the Baiului Mountains on the East. The Piatra Craiului Mountains, the Făgăraş Mountains, the Perşani Mountains and the Magura Codlei Mountains appear to the West. In the Sounth you can see the Bucegi Mountains.
