About

Located in the southeast of Brasov County, at the foot of Ciucas Mountain, this area is home to an important number of alder, as its name implies. In addition to the alder that grows in association with the ash, we will be surprised to also find a number of no fewer than 3,000 other plant species, among which we mention: mountain bulb, mountain hog, pine, autumn crocus.Three species of amphibians are found at the site: the yellow stomach bud, the triton with crest, and the salamander. Among the mammals present in the area the wild cat and the marten should be mentioned .Both the Purkareni fossil site and the alders of Târlung are part of the Natura 2000 Ciucaş site.
